Tis The Season To Wear Flip Flops

I've been eyeing these adorable flip flop earrings for years waiting for the day I got my ears pierced. This year I finally got them done and bought my long awaited flip flop studs from Sea Jewels

Sea Jewels is a really neat store selling things like jewelry, clothing, and home decor. Here is a picture from the Sea Jewels website to give you an idea of what the store is like.

I think these earrings are an amazing  summer accessory because what goes better with a pair of flip flops than more flip flops.

Clear Skin And A Bit Of Sparkle

(Sorry these pics aren't the best for some reason I couldn't get the right lighting.)
For the past few months I have been trying out some face pads for acne. I was really into using Neutrogena's Rapid Clear Daily Cleansing Pads but they smelt really strong. Not in a perfume way but in a chemical way so I switched to Garnier's Daily Purifying Pads. These don't smell as strong and contain good things like zinc, salicylic acid, and eucalyptus. These things help fight acne but also keep you skin from being dry. I also like the packaging of this more than the Neutrogena pads because the colour is nicer and there is a bit of sparkle in it.

Citrus Craziness

First of let me just say that this lip balm smells amazing! It's made by School Garden Co, the way this small company got started is actually really neat. If you want to know click here. I really like this lip balm because it's made with mostly natural ingredients, it gives you lips a bit of shine, and it really moisturizes. The one I have is in flavour Wild Citrus and I really love it.

Polish At Random

Today I couldn't seem to find anything to post about so I randomly chose 2 polishes that I hadn't posted about yet. Both of these polishes have a great sparkle in them and both work really well. The lavender coloured one is by L'oreal and is in the colour Party Hop. With this polish you have to put on 2 coats if you really want the purple to show but if you just want a nice sparkle you only have to apply 1. The green one is Nicole by O.P.I and it's in the colour Make Mine Lime. The same goes with the coats on this polish. I don't apply this polish often 'cause it's a bit hard to find an outfit that goes with it. So ya, these are my random polishes.

Fashionable Reads

This past week I've read some really neat fashion reference books. Like 100 Years Of Fashion Illustration by Cally Beackman and Yves Saint Laurent by Berge Pierre. I'm also In the middle of reading a book called Vogue Fashion by Linda Watson.

1. 100 Years Of Fashion consists of really unique and interesting illustrations of fashion. I borrowed it from the library though cause it's a bit pricy at the cost of $50.

2. Vogue Fashion is an outline of fashion history and Vogue's role in it from the past 100 years.

3. Yves Saint Laurent is mostly only pictures but it also contains a short biography of Yves Saint Laurent.

My favourite out of the 3 was Vogue Fashion because I think the book covers a lot and is well written.

Mail For Moi

I'm not sure about you but I love getting mail from stores. I find it's like a personal invitation to shop there (of course it's not but you can always dream). Today I got a pamphlet like thing from American Eagle giving me a 15% off card and showing me their large selection of jeans. I also got one from Coach showing me some pieces from their latest collection. I've gotten a few things from Coach in the mail and I enjoy cutting out some of the images and putting them on my magnetic board. I guess getting adds in the mail could be annoying but not that many people send or receive letters in the mail so it's always fun to get something once and a while.

Moisture, Shine, & Colour All Wrapped Up In 1

At the Taylor Swift concert I went to a few days ago they were handing out these free lip glosses. It made me pretty excited because normally they're $9 each. These are CoverGirl Natureluxe gloss balms I actually own 2 of these already but in different shades. The ones I got at the concert are in the colour Sandstone which is the one on the left and Marble which is on the right. I love these because they're like a balm, gloss, and lipstick all in one. I also really like the colours they come in and that they have SPF 15 which is perfect for a hot sunny day like today.

Pink Lemonade Cupcakes, Who Knew

Today I found a recipe for Pink Lemonade Cupcakes on this blog. The recipe is actually from a blog called Food Coma but I couldn't find the recipe there. While I was surfing through the site I found some pretty tasty looking recipes though. Below are pictures of my attempt at making these delicious cupcakes.

Taylor Swift Speaks Now

Last night I attended the Taylor Swift Speak Now Concert. I thought it was amazing! There were more than 5 costume changes, bungee jumpers coming out of bells (no lie), fireworks, glitter falling from the sky, and of course Taylor sang wonderfully. My favourite part was when she did a tribute to Canadian music and sang "Baby" by Justin Bieber.

Here is a video of a few clips from her concert.
BTW The sound isn't the best 'cause everyone was screaming and singing along .

At the concert I only actually spent $5 dollars by purchasing a Speak Now bracelet.

The concert was sponsored by CoverGirl so they were handing out free lip glosses but I'll blog about those in the days to come. Speaking of beauty products and such have you heard about Taylor's new perfume called Wonderstruck. I don't wear perfume but I might just buy it for the really cute bottle.

Ottawa Photo Diary

These past few days I was in Ottawa and I had an amazing experience. One of my favorite things that I did in Ottawa was going to the Byward Market. I took some pics while I was at the market and while sight seeing so I thought I'd share them.

(I thought these windows were so beautiful)

(This guy made these really neat bracelets with names on them)

Wishful For Winter

It's so hot outside and a great way to take your mind off the heat is by thinking about winter or applying these cute winter themed balms (an air-conditioner might help too). These winter themed balms come in 3 flavours which are Berry Ice, Vanilla Sugar, and Gingerbread. They are made by Simple Pleasures and simply moisturize your lips. I really like them because of the cute packaging and great scents. My favourite one is Vanilla Sugar because it smells like sugar cookies.

Prada and Lots Of Dresses

For me summer is always full of lots of things to do but sometimes it's nice to just sit back, relax, and watch a movie. Last night I wanted to rent The Devil Wears Prada but the store didn't have it so I ended up buying it along with 27 Dresses which I have yet to see. I think The Devil Wears Prada is an interesting view into the world of fashion. I don't actually think editors of popular fashion magazines go around calling their staff fat but the movie definitely shows that the fashion business is hard. I also like the movie because of the amazing wardrobe. I also heard that 27 Dresses is great so I'm excited to watch it.

Jewelry - Music To The Eyes

American Eagle was having a sale a few weeks ago and it was get 3 pieces of jewelry for only 9 dollars. I thought that was a pretty good deal so I picked up some pieces. They aren't really designs that I would look at and go that's so me but they are definitely unique. I don't really have much to say about them except for that the one with tassels and feathers on it reminds me of something Miley Cyrus would wear. I  thought I'd share the pictures I took of them though because they turned out pretty good.

Oh My Gloss

(My dog doesn't really pose well for pictures)

This balm is by Lip Smacker and is in the flavour Kiwi Berry Crush. It's just your basic balm except that you can attach to a belt loop, purse strap, or key chain. There are actually to variations of this balm, one has SPF and the one I have doesn't. The day I got it I actually wore it on my belt loop (which probably looked weird) and little did I know that while I was watching TV on the couch my dog chewed the balm. It looked really bad, was unusable, and of course had dog slobber all over it. I think the term OMG could be used in this situation as in Oh My Gloss!

P.S. After putting together this entire post I realized I'd blogged about this balm before. when I blogged about how I had 3 glosses with kiwi in them. Oops, I thought I'd post it any way 'cause it's different from the other post I did.

Summer's Secret

Even though deodorant is not a common topic among conversation I thought I'd share a new deodorant that works really well. It is Secret's Natural Mineral deodorant. It's from a new line by Secret that uses natural ingredients. They come in 3 different scents which are Lemon Grass, Eucalyptus Blossom, and unscented (which is what I have). I really like it because it smells like a sweet version of baby powder so it's not overpowering but it has a nice scent. It's also really good because it masks bad odours and doesn't feel heavy.

Patriotic Polish

It's Canada day! I know I should be wearing red to be patriotic and all that but I don't like wearing it because the colour is too bold. Instead of wearing a piece of clothing that is red you could opt for a red nail polish. I really like Sally Hansen's Insta-Dri in the colour "Sonic Bloom". The colour in this line go on beautifully but they don't last very long so they're perfect for a one day wear. This is actually one of my only red nail polishes because I'm not that fond of them but I like this one because it's sorta a pinky red.

Hope everyone had a great Canada Day!
