Winter Reading

I love having books that you can look at over and over again like the Seventeen Ultimate Guide To Style and Parisian Chic. The Seventeen book is more just a flip through book because it's mostly just pictures. I find it really great for fashion inspiration and cool ideas. The only problem is that it really makes me want to go shopping and buy a lot of clothing.

Parisian Chic to the fashionistas guide to Paris. It has cool places to shop, eat, and stay in Pairs. It also has lots of fashion and beauty advice as well fun quirky illustrations.

Moisturizing Honeydew

For Christmas I got the eos honeysuckle and honey dew lip balm smooth sphere. I've seen the ads for them in magazines a lot and the ads are what made we want the lip balm. Above is my picture trying to imitate the ad.
The lip balm has such a nice flavour and moisturizes very well.

Gingerbread Cookies

What is better than homemade gingerbread cookies on Christmas Eve decorated with dried cranberries and chocolate chips. There isn't much more to say than yum and have a Merry Christmas!

Hold On

I recently did a post about my curling iron so I decided it's time to do a post about hairspray. I use hairspray normally when I curl my hair because if I don't the curls fall really fast. I've been using Finesse firm hold unscented hairspray for a while and I find it works quite well. It holds for a long time and doesn't seem to be heavy but I don't have anything to compare it to. I've found it great for this time of year because the wind is always blowing my hair about but this keeps my hair together.

I Heart Pretty Pictures

I found this website called We Heart It. This website is basically just a giant collection of amazingly wonderful photos. Here are some really nice ones I found on the site.

Here are some more Christmas/Winter inspirational pictures I found.

Tinsel Town Philosophy

I can't believe there is less than one week till Christmas! It's time to post about the final lip gloss in my Much Mistletoeing Philosophy set which is Tinsel Town.

This is my favourite one because when it's on your lips it's the same colour as it is in the tube. It also has an amazing minty scent and a lot of sparkle/shine just like tinsel.

Gift Ideas

This is a random gift idea post. Obviously these gifts are not for everyone but for someone that is into things like beauty and fashion these are some fun easy gift ideas.

1. Infinity scarves from American Eagle. They're great because you don't have to guess sizes
2. Lip gloss sets and a multi coloured tube of gloss from Sephora.
3. Fashion themed daily calenders from Coles (bookstores). Perfect because it's something you can use daily.
4. Decorative bottles from Ikea. They're nice because it's something that someone might not purchase for themselves.

Time For A New Curling Iron

I recently got a new curling iron from the brand Bella which is a brand sold at Shoppers Drug Mart. I needed a new one because my old one, right before I was about to use it, made a loud noise and then a spark flew from it. So I thought maybe I shouldn't use it again. I'm pretty sure the new one I got is a 1 inch. It claims to heat up in 30 seconds and it actually does! Sadly this curling iron doesn't get very hot so it doesn't create the greatest curls. However it works really well to put some body and texture in the hair.

Baby Lips Are Here

I saw an ad for Baby Lips lip balm by Maybelline about 2 months ago and ever since then I've been on the look out for them. I finally found them today at Loblaws! They come in 6 different flavours and I decided to get "Peach Kiss". It has SPF 20 which is great and is supposed to moisturize your lips. I've only had it for one day and it seems to be keeping my lips moist.

This one has a tiny bit of colour but not a lot. It gives your lips that no makeup, makeup look because it makes your lips look smooth and gives them just a smidgen of shine. The effects of it are nice but it's the packaging that is the deal breaker.

What I Waste Lip Gloss On (Part 2)

This is an updated version of what I waste lip gloss on. Now it is Starbucks's Peppermint Hot Chocolate which is only available around the holidays.

It tastes like mint chocolate chip ice cream but just with a lot more chocolate, it's also not as sweet. They serve it with whip cream and chocolate shavings which is my favourite part.

Long Lasting Cream

I swim a lot so it's hard to keep my skin from getting dry. Normally I just use Aveeno's lotion but I decided to try out Aveeno's Skin Relief Moisturizing Cream. My moms dermatologist said that it's better to use cream than lotion because creams do a lot more for your skin (she didn't say exactly that but it was along those lines).

This cream definitely lasts on your skin for a really long time but I haven't seen any big difference. Maybe I haven't used it for long enough yet?

It does not have a strong scent but it almost smells the tiniest bit like mint. The texture is also very thick. In this picture it almost looks like something you could eat. But don't eat it, eat a minty candy cane or something.

Clogs & Blogs

A few days ago was St.Nicolas Day so I decided to do a post about a lip product from Holland which is Purol's lip balm. This balm is so moisturizing and has a natural but really pleasant smell. In the picture there are also some spicy cookies and some half milk half bittersweet chocolate, which I'm eating right now.

Sweaters

Winter is definitely in the air, so my love of sweaters has grown. Here are some really cute simple ones I found online.

Minty Coffee Anyone?

The absolute best part of this gloss is the flavour. It doesn't actually smell like marshmallows it smells just like a minty coffee. It has a strong scent which is nice, but I put it with some other glosses and they took on the scent which is annoying. It has a really pretty sparkly finish and is from the Much Mistletoeing Philosophy lip gloss set. I'm so excited for the holidays especially because for me yesterday was the first snowfall for the season!

Pointless Little Pleasures

I went to IKEA and every time I go I don't come home with a practical piece of furniture I come home with pink candle holders or things like these insanely cute perfume bottles. They came in a Yngren bottle set. Some might think they're pointless because I do not wear perfume, but they're a really nice item to display on a vanity even if it's only water thats inside them.

Sparkle This Holiday Season

I love using Photoshop so I created 2 pages about different sparkly outfits to wear during the holidays. Each out fit probably coasts about $4000 because I got most of the clothing off of Net-A-Porter.com. So obviously I don't actually own any of the pieces of clothing but it's fun to style them and pretend that maybe someday I'll be able to wear them.

Christmas Time

This Philosophy lip gloss in the flavour Peppermint Bark is from the Much Mistletoeing set. I love the flavour because the flavour smells exactly like chocolate and candy cane. This gloss gives amazing shine and a hint of colour.

I mainly love it because it reminds me so much of Christmas time.

No Snowflake Is Like The Other

I watched this snowflake nail tutorial on YouTube and I thought it looked so cool. It was on the beauty guru's channel Macbarbie07. I decided to try it out.

It doesn't look amazing but I think it still looks pretty cool because realistically no snowflake is the same.

To do this I used the polishs "Teal The Cows Come Home" by O.P.I (for the base colour), "Rich In Spirit" (for a glittery base colour), and "Positive Energy" (for the snowflakes) both by Nicole by O.P.I.
In the video she used a thin nail brush to create the snowflakes but I just used a thin paint brush and it worked alright but I don't think the paint brush will be usable again.
If you want to try and create this nail look you can watch the video here.

Winter Lip Gloss Wish List

I'm really sorry about the lack of posts this week. One of the main reasons is because I couldn't get my camera to upload pictures onto my laptop (long story). But here is a lip gloss of the week post featuring my winter lip gloss wish list. All of them have loads of moisture, so I bet they would be perfect for these dry Winter seasons, and one of them is actually a body moisturizer that can be used on lips!

Turns out the word "wishlist" is spelled "wish list". I discovered this after editing the photo.

Sorting Through

Isn't it weird how you sometimes buy a $10 bottle of nail polish but only wear it twice. I was sorting through my small collection and realized I have a lot of random colours from a long time ago. They're all Sally Hansen 'cause thats what I bought when I first started using nail polish.

The yellow one goes on really well, the rich purple and sparkley orange apply alright, but the black takes a few coats. For the most part I like Sally Hansen, it's just that they chip and they're hard to take off with nail polish remover. Because they are hard to take off I haven't worn them in awhile, I should really sort through my things more often!

Some Auttum Shopping

This weekend I found this shirt at Forever 21 and thought it was an amazing shirt especially for the low price of $18.

I think this shirt could be paired and switched up a lot of different ways so it was a good buy.
I also got a gold coloured leaf necklace to wear with the shirt because they were having a sale on jewlery.

I think this necklace is perfect for Fall.
Thanks for reading!

Lip Crayon or Pencil Crayon

While shopping at Loblaws I got this Joe Fresh (which is the clothing and beauty line Loblaws sells) sheer lip crayon in the colour Candy on sale for only $2. The deal was amazing especially for how well the product worked. It has a great long lasting colour, sorta works as a lip liner, and gives a bit of gloss. When you put it on it feels really moisturizing but after a while it dries out your lips but a bit of lip balm fixed that. It looks a lot like a pencil crayon and even smells like one (is it weird I know what a pencil crayon smells like?).

Here At Last

I finally ordered something form ASOS.com which is a fashion forward UK online clothing store. I picked out this shiny silver purse. On the website it didn't look shiny and it was much more of a grey colour but I still really like it.

The only problem is that I didn't receive it till long after when it was supposed to arrive. I contacted the store and they assumed it was lost in the mail so they said they would refund it. It showed up though so I'm not sure I'll get the refund but at least the purse is here.

Favourite Fashion Apps

I know I did something like this already but I thought I'd do an updated version of my favourite fashion/beauty apps. The Nicole by O.P.I app is really good 'cause you can view all their colours so when you're buying nail polish you can know what you're looking for. Go Try It On is really fun because you can post pictures of your outfit and have people vote on if they like it. I find the Sephora app extremely helpful because you can  view all their products. I take a screen shot of the products I like so when I'm in the store I can ask for exactly what I'm looking for. The final app is Pose which is a lot like twitter but instead of being about your life it's about clothes and such. I love all of these apps 'cause they're all free but have great quality.

Tricks, Treats, & Lip Stick

I picked up this tester of a YSL lip stick at Sephora and instantly loved the cute little tube.

The colour is a deep berry-like red. It's a really bold colour for every day but it's perfect for my Halloween costume which is just sorta the mask.

The lipstick is really good because the consistency is creamy, it has a bright long lasting colour, doesn't feel sticky on your lips, and leaves your lips looking glossy. Wouldn't it be fun if instead of handing out candy on Halloween night people handed out little tubes of lipstick or gloss!

Happy Halloween!

Inspiration

So on my last day of my free photo shop tutorial I finally figured out how to make collages. I made 2 fashion themed ones based off of 2 trends. The edges of the pics are rough but I hope you enjoy.

Cute, Clean, & Imperfections

This week I used the Nature Clean Pure-Sensitive Shampoo and Conditioner. I really like that it's almost fully organic and not tested on animals but I didn't think it worked very well. The combination of the 2 made my hair really flat and not normal. I do however like the bottle because you press that big blue part and it opens the cap but I wouldn't get it again.

Sweet Scent

This is Philosophy's cinnamon buns lip gloss from the Much Mistletoeing set. It doesn't have much colour but it makes your lips look sparkly and dewy. It also gives some high shine.

I find it doesn't actually smell like cinnamon buns which is disappointing but it does have a nice sweet scent that reminds me of sugar cookie dough and sugar cookie dough is pretty great.
