Revamping The Mason Jar

This idea seems kind of too simplistic now that I think about it but it adds nice detail. I wanted to put my hair ties in a jar but I didn't want all of the colours to show through so I wrapped ribbon/lace around it. You could glue the beginning and end to the jar. I simply taped it and turned that side to face the wall. Super easy, but it adds a nice touch to an otherwise plain jar.

The Blue Room Project

When I saw this comforter I instantly fell in love in with it. I bought it at Walmart which is not exactly a magical  place to fall in love. Ever since I bought it I've been finding ways to accent my room with this colour without spending a lot of money, so here are a couple of my ideas!

I got a paint strip from a hardware store and put it in a ¢99 frame from IKEA. It's not exactly a piece of art but it's a lot cheaper and takes less commitment than actually painting your room. If you feel like being more artistic simply write your favourite quote on the paint chip.

I found a pattern online that is extremely similar to the comforter. To personalize use Photoshop or a similar program to adjust the colour. This could be done to any photo you desire and is actually pretty simple. The large frame makes the pattern more noticeable in a room.

January In Instagram

I talk about the pictures clockwise starting from  the top left.

1. There was a huge snowstorm just a couple days ago. So I actually had to wear my winter boots which did not make me happy because I am really not a winter clothing person.

2. I started reading "Paper Towns" by John Green. I'm only half way through but I definitely recommend it.

3. Today I painted hearts on to an old pair of leggings. It worked out really well and definitely plan to wear them on Valentine's day. 

4. I've started occasionally wearing collared tops under sweaters. It's definitely a more preppy look but I think it's neat. 

December in Instagram

Instagram (a photography app) makes pictures taken with an iPod (which are normally really bad quality) look super nice. These are moments from my December where I didn't bother to get out my camera but got out my iPod instead.

1. I applied studs to my iPod simply using a hot glue gun and suprisingly it turned out really well.

2. I got Urban Decay's Naked palette for Christmas which I was extremely excited about. The colours are super pigmented and the primer makes a huge difference.

3. I baked cherry pie for New Year's Eve, it was the best looking pie I ever made but I didn't actually like the filling very much. 

3. Finally organized my book shelf by colour coating the books. I found the idea in this video here. I absolutely adore the was it looks!

On Pinterest I've found some really cute DIY candle ideas like the ones above. I plan on trying out the one with sticks and the leaf one but I'm pretty sure they might just be a fire hazard. If they work out they'll also work as great gifts.

Wonderful Water

Lately I've been really into Pinterest. I saw a cool picture of some fancy looking water on a couple of boards so I decided to make it. I used 4 cucumber slices, half a lemon cut into wedges (slices would look cooler but I could not manage cutting the slices), and 10 mint leaves. After letting it sit for a bit it ended up tasting great!

It's definitely more exciting than plain water but more healthy than pop and stuff.

DIY: Transforming A Top

These are some really cool DIY videos that I've come across. These two ideas are great for transforming a top that needs some revamping. I've tried out the idea in the second video and it actually worked out really well!

Just A Jar

Recently my favourite way to store anything is in a jar. It's two in one cause you get to eat whatever is in the jar and then you can put stuff in it. It's kinda a DIY, but you need no artistic talent! Even thought it's just a jar I think it makes anything inside it look really cool.

Arts & Crafts Time

While cleaning up under my bead I found some old arts and crafts stuff like a Klutz paper fashion kit. So I decided to make a paper dress (anything to avoid cleaning the mess under my bed) and this is what it turned out looking like. I ended up putting mine in a picture frame and I've found it's a great edition to my room. 

Studded Phone Case

A goal I have for this summer is to make one of these studded phone cases. I think they're super cute! Maybe cute isn't the best word to describe studs but you know what I mean. I think I'm going to make a gold and white one in the pattern above or place the studs in a big C for Chloe.

 I've found a lot of videos online on how to make them so I thought I'd share some good ones incase anyone wants to try out this super neat DIY project.

Arm Candy Part 2

This is part two of my arm candy posts. This combo is really girly but the jean adds a cool vibe to it. The butterfly bracelet is really old so I don't know where it's from, the pearls are from Forever 21, and the jean is a DIY project I completed successfully buy cutting jeans into shorts and braiding the scraps into a bracelet. 

DIY Face Mask

Yesterday I decided I was prepared enough to make up my own exfoliating face mask. Above are all the ingredients you'll need. After I made it I applied it with a cotton pad in a circular motion, left it on my skin for 10 minutes, and washed it of with a warm wash cloth. I also suggest trying this out on your hand to make sure it won't irritate your face because I have no guarantee that it won't.

Old Looking Things Are Cool

I've been in love with key necklaces for almost 2 years now and finally I've been given the chance to make my own. My aunt got a whole key ring of keys from a random antique store and gave me a few so I could make a necklace. I bought the chain from Michaels but I should have checked if it had a clasp 'cause when I got home I had to attach a clasp myself. I think it turned out great. Here are some pictures that I edited by using Instagram.

Home Made Bangles

I got this really neat book called P.S- I Made This by Erica Domesek. The book is full of fashionable DIY projects. I got this book almost a year ago but I never made anything from it but I few days ago I decided I had to make something from it or the book would have been a total waste. I decided to make bangles. In the book the instructions say to get pipe clamps, adjust the size with a screw driver, then wrap ribbon around the pipe clamp, tie it, and voila you have some stylish bangles. Here are some pictures of the making of the bangles.

365 Bags Save The Day!

This January I decided to try and mix up my room so I ( fine it was really my sister ) moved my bed around so it faced a different direction. After half an hour of that I decided I liked it better the way it was before so back my bed went. 'Cause that failed I decided to add a cool piece of art. Instead of spending $2000 dollars on something I would look at and question what it was I made a collage out of pictures of bags. The many pictures of bags came from my daily purse calender. Once I hung it up on my wall I decided it was the perfect touch!

Time For A Facial

Snow days rock! Even though I spent a little bit of time shoveling I had time to give myself a facial. I found the recipe online below are the instructions.

Ingredients: 1/4 cup plain yogurt; chilled 3-4 strawberries; mashed Instructions: Stir ingredients together. Apply to freshly cleaned face and gently massage strawberry mixture to exfoliate. Wash off with warm water after 10 minutes and pat dry. I found the recipe at http://www.wittyliving.com/recipes/facial-mask-recipes.html.My only advice would be make sure you really smush the strawberries so you don't end up with lumps of strawberries on your face. ( I speak from experience.)
