January In Instagram

I talk about the pictures clockwise starting from  the top left.
1. There was a huge snowstorm just a couple days ago. So I actually had to wear my winter boots which did not make me happy because I am really not a winter clothing person.
2. I started reading "Paper Towns" by John Green. I'm only half way through but I definitely recommend it.
3. Today I painted hearts on to an old pair of leggings. It worked out really well and definitely plan to wear them on Valentine's day.
4. I've started occasionally wearing collared tops under sweaters. It's definitely a more preppy look but I think it's neat.

For Fans Of The Hunger Games and Twilight

I really wish that Suzanne Collins would write another book to add to the Hunger Games series maybe one that shows life in the society right before they started making each district play in the games. Since that's not happening I've found a couple of series that are are equally as great.

Delirium by Lauren Oliver is my new favourite book, it takes place in a dystopian society where love is a disease. It's written so amazingly and I'm super excited for the third book in the series to come out in May!

Shiver by Maggie Stiefvater another book that is part of a trilogy is more for fans of Twilight because it's a love story about werewolves. I really love this series and I think it would make a good holiday gift because the cover is kind of wintry looking.

Project Pointless

I'm always in awe of the unpractical ideas presented in magazines for home decor. Things like leaving shelves empty, stacking empty antique suit cases, and finally having random books lying around when you have a book shelf. While I've decided to take a go at one of those unpractical ideas and stack some books even though I still have room on my book shelf.
I'm actually quite enjoying the look. We'll have to wait and see though cause I'll get tired of moving everything off of the books when I want to read them, and then putting everything back.

Winter Reading

I love having books that you can look at over and over again like the Seventeen Ultimate Guide To Style and Parisian Chic. The Seventeen book is more just a flip through book because it's mostly just pictures. I find it really great for fashion inspiration and cool ideas. The only problem is that it really makes me want to go shopping and buy a lot of clothing.

Parisian Chic to the fashionistas guide to Paris. It has cool places to shop, eat, and stay in Pairs. It also has lots of fashion and beauty advice as well fun quirky illustrations.

Literature From A Lip Gloss Lover Part 2

This is part 2 of my 2 part book review series. The theme of books for this post is science fiction and fantasy.

The book Numbers by Rachel Ward is about a teenage girl who can see the day people are going to die when she looks in their eyes and the struggles that come with that power. I'd give it 3 stars because I loved the plot of the book but sometimes it was sorta boring.

The other book is Mockingjay by Suzanne Collins which is the third and final book in the Hunger Game series. This book is so good! I read it in only 3 days 'cause I just didn't want to put it down. I'm not going to explain the plot 'cause that's what they make us do in school (they're like write the summary in your own words) so just check it out here. I would give this book 5 stars so if you're looking for something to read you should definitely read this series. It's so good that they're making a movie that comes out in March.

Literature From A Lip Gloss Lover Part 1

I love to read so I thought I'd do a book review post of some books I read over the summer. This is only part 1 because most of these books are chiclit and I plan do to a part 2 about more action books.
(I got the pictures from some other sites but I decided to edit them to make them more interesting).

(The picture of The Lying Game is from here and the picture of Wanted
is from here.)
These 2 books are both written by Sara Shepard and are both murder mysteries with a very modern view. Wanted is the final book in the Pretty Little Liars series which is about 4 teenage girls figuring out who murdered their best friend. I loved it so much 'cause it has such a surprising twist at the end. The Lying Game is a lot like the Pretty Little Liars series. It's about the struggle of a girl whose twin was murdered. These books seem like they might not really be for teens but even though they're about murders they're both told through the eyes of a typical teen. I'd give both of these books 4 stars.

(The picture of the book is from here)

Another great book (it really is great) is Gimmeacall by Sarah Mlynowski which is about a girl who gets a phone call from herself in the future. It's really hard to explain any more than that but if you want to read the actual summary you can click here. I'd give this book 4 and a half stars.

Hope you enjoyed these book reviews. Stay tuned for part 2.

Home Made Bangles

I got this really neat book called P.S- I Made This by Erica Domesek. The book is full of fashionable DIY projects. I got this book almost a year ago but I never made anything from it but I few days ago I decided I had to make something from it or the book would have been a total waste. I decided to make bangles. In the book the instructions say to get pipe clamps, adjust the size with a screw driver, then wrap ribbon around the pipe clamp, tie it, and voila you have some stylish bangles. Here are some pictures of the making of the bangles.

(Pipe clamps from Canadian Tire)

Fashionable Reads

This past week I've read some really neat fashion reference books. Like 100 Years Of Fashion Illustration by Cally Beackman and Yves Saint Laurent by Berge Pierre. I'm also In the middle of reading a book called Vogue Fashion by Linda Watson.

1. 100 Years Of Fashion consists of really unique and interesting illustrations of fashion. I borrowed it from the library though cause it's a bit pricy at the cost of $50.

2. Vogue Fashion is an outline of fashion history and Vogue's role in it from the past 100 years.

3. Yves Saint Laurent is mostly only pictures but it also contains a short biography of Yves Saint Laurent.

My favourite out of the 3 was Vogue Fashion because I think the book covers a lot and is well written.

Pretty Amazing

Today I realized that I hadn't blogged about the Teen Vogue Hand Book by Lauren Waterman which is my all-time favourite book. I think I've read it a few too many times.

The book is divided into 6 main sections which are designers, editors, stylists, models, beauty, and photo.
In each section they feature people in that business. It's a really inspiring and helpful book because they give great advice on how to get into the fashion world. I also think it's a very well put together book with great pictures. Overall it's an amazing book and speaking of amazing I can't believe I have over 2000 page views!

Pages Of Style

I was out looking for a new novel to read when I found the book "Lauren Conrad Style" written by Lauren Conrad. The cover of the book was enough for me to buy it because it's all simple and shiny like a Mac computer. I flipped through the pages and found amazing fashion and beauty advice. The pics in the book were amazing too. When I got home I started reading right away and I was amazed because it had everything from how to pack clothes to how to apply mascara. It's full of everything anyone who likes fashion would need to know and love.
