Revamping The Mason Jar

This idea seems kind of too simplistic now that I think about it but it adds nice detail. I wanted to put my hair ties in a jar but I didn't want all of the colours to show through so I wrapped ribbon/lace around it. You could glue the beginning and end to the jar. I simply taped it and turned that side to face the wall. Super easy, but it adds a nice touch to an otherwise plain jar.

Demi Lovato Concert & Dip Dye Inspiration

A couple of weeks ago I went to a Demi Lovato concert. She came onstage and my first thought was "oh my goodness her hair is awesome". I think it's so cool and am now thinking about dip dying my hair. Not as much hair probably just the very very ends and I was thinking about a lilac. Overall it was an amazing concert!

Trying A New Hairspray

This Finesse Firm Hold Hairspray was definitely not what I was expecting. To start of with it definitely has a scent even thought they claim it's unscented and it doesn't make my hair stay in place. While maybe it does but I don't get that crunchy feeling my last hairspray gave. I do however like the the way it sprays because it comes out fast.

Go To Hair Styles

These are tutorials found on some of my favourite YouTube channels. These hairstyles have become regulars and are easy to do once you get the hang of it.

This video finally taught me how to do the fishtail braid.

I love doing this style but I leave a few front pieces of my hair down. I also get lots of compliments on it and people asking me how I did it.

These are some really easy fun styles that I love.

Hold On

I recently did a post about my curling iron so I decided it's time to do a post about hairspray. I use hairspray normally when I curl my hair because if I don't the curls fall really fast. I've been using Finesse firm hold unscented hairspray for a while and I find it works quite well. It holds for a long time and doesn't seem to be heavy but I don't have anything to compare it to. I've found it great for this time of year because the wind is always blowing my hair about but this keeps my hair together.

Cute, Clean, & Imperfections

This week I used the Nature Clean Pure-Sensitive Shampoo and Conditioner. I really like that it's almost fully organic and not tested on animals but I didn't think it worked very well. The combination of the 2 made my hair really flat and not normal. I do however like the bottle because you press that big blue part and it opens the cap but I wouldn't get it again.

Guilt Free

This week I tried out a new daily shampoo and conditioner by Jason. They are both for all hair types and are fragrance free. I also like the packaging 'cause it looks all relaxing. The conditioner is great because it doesn't make my hair heavy or oily. I like the shampoo for the same reasons. Another great feature is that they aren't tested on animals so while you're washing your hair you're completely guilt free.

Testing 1-2-3

Recently I've tried out 3 new products from a brand called Cliniderm which is a especially made as a non irritant.

Their conditioner detangles wonderfully but I felt like it left my hair just a bit greasy. I have actually started using the shampoo as my regular because it helps with dry scalps (which I'm sad to say I have). The moisturizer is also good but didn't seem to have a very long lasting effect. I guess it would help if I started using it for a longer period of time. Overall I think these 3 products are pretty good.

When Life Gives You Lemons Give Yourself Highlights

This week I tried out some recipes for my hair that I found in Seventeen magazine. One of them was to make my hair lighter and the other was to make it wavy. So below I'll give you the recipe and tell you how it worked on my hair.

The first recipe's goal was to make my hair wavy like I had just spent a day at the beach, it worked it just made my hair a bit dry and frizzy though.

Instructions
1. Put 1 cup of water in a spray bottle.
2. Add 1 tsp of sea salt in to the water.
3. Shake well and spray through your dry hair.
4. Scrunch your hair to create the wave.

The second recipe was to make my hair lighter and give it highlights. I don't think it worked that well but I think it made a bit of a difference.

Instructions
1. Squeeze the juices of a lemon, lime, and orange in to a spray bottle.
2. Add a dollop of conditioner.
3. Shake well and spray on wet hair.
4. Sit in the sun for 30 minutes with it on your hair.
5. Rinse off.

I think these are definitely worth trying even if they don't work out perfectly.

Smoothes It All Out

Waking up to go to school in the morning is hard enough but it's even harder if, when you get there, you have to jump into a cold pool and go swimming. So twice a week at school I have to go swimming. Every time the chlorine takes control of my hair by tangling it and with at the most only 10 minutes to get changed it can be quite a problem. But a few years back I found a product that somewhat helped tame my already too tangly hair. The product that helps is Joico's Daily Care Leave-In Detangler for all hair types. This products is great because you spray it on like hairspray, you never have to wash it out, and it gives your hair a nice shine without making your hair heavy. I have also been using their Daily Care Balancing Shampoo and Daily Care Conditioner for as long as I can remember. The conditioner makes my hair sort of oily so I've started using other ones. The shampoo is nothing special but it gets it's job done.

Soft As Silk

When I get my hair cut my hairdresser always tells me that my hair is so dry and that I need to buy a certain product. So I ended up buying Regis Designline Silk Drops Repair & Shine Serum. All you have to do is comb 2 drops through dry hair and it makes your hair soft and shiny. It's a nice product and it smells like roses and tulips put together. So really it's like having a flower garden on your head minus the dirt.

The Pink Crimp

These January days are getting dull so when I saw this hot pink crimper I had to have it.
I had been looking around for a 3 barrel curling iron but I couldn't seem to find one. So when I was getting by hair cut at the salon I saw a crimper and I thought that was the next best thing.
The crimper is small but the kink it gives lasts forever. I used it last night and the kink is still there as I type. One problem though is that it will take FOREVER to crimp every piece of hair. This crimper is made by FHI Heart.
