This is Maybelline's Rocket mascara. So far in 2013 it has been my favourite purchase because it works so well. The first time I put it on I was concerned my lashes looked freakishly long. After asking a couple of people the verdict is that they weren't. None the less this mascara is great. It doesn't smudge, lasts all day, and has great packaging. I think something about the brush makes the application good because it's never clumpy. I definitely think this is better than the Falsies mascara by Maybelline. Mainly it's my favourite because the product's claims are actually full filled.

YSL V.S Maybelline Mascara
This post is a comparison of two mascaras with similar claims but with very different prices. The first mascara is YSL's MASCARA VOLUME EFFET FAUX CILS - Luxurious Mascara which is about $30 for the full size (I just have a tester). This mascara is really good because it doesn't clump, makes my lashes really long, and lasts a pretty long time. My problem with it is that when I use it on my lower lashes it quite often smudges making it look like I'm wearing eyeliner however this only ever happens when I have a day where I'm active. The second mascara is Maybelline's Volum' Express Falsies Flared in the water proof version which is about $11. This mascara lasts for a really long time and never smudges. This would be a perfect mascara if it didn't sometimes clump because clumped mascara is never really a good look. For the most part it doesn't but you can't reapply it.
In conclusion if you are a person who is on the go or pretty active I recommend the Maybelline mascara however if you aren't I recommend the YSL mascara because it looks a bit nicer on your lashes. Either way though, both mascara are good.

Worth The Hype
When I got this for Christmas I was so excited! There is so much hype about this product and now I can join in and share my excitement about it too. The best part is probably the eye shadow primer that comes with it. It's great cause it actually makes this eye shadow stay on all day it also makes some drugstore eye shadow I have stay on for so much longer! I haven't really mastered creating looks with all the colours so so far I just apply one to two colours at a time, but it still looks good. Another plus is that it comes with an actual brush and not on of those weird sponge things in drugstore eye shadow pallets.
So yes, it's totally worth all of the hype!

My Favourite Products In 2012
These are my favourite beauty products from 2012! Most of them were released in previous years, so these are just products that I've really loved through out this year.
From left to right the products are Essie's Turquoise and Caicos, Revlon's Bold Sangria, a Revlon lip butter in Berry Smoothie, an EOS lip balm in Honey Suckle, Urban Decay's eyeliner in Zero, Fresh's lip balm in Sugar, a YSL mascara, and The Body Shops, Aloe Eye Defense.
These are all great products that actually do what they claim they to! I feel like all products should meet that requirement sadly not all do, but these ones definitely do.
Happy New Year's!

Red Velvet Lips
The first time I put on this Revlon Lip Butter in the colour Red Velvet I was really disappointed because the colour seemed super dark. After trying it out a couple of times though I've grown to love it. If you dab it on your lips it gives you a "I just ate raspberries tint" and when you apply it intensely it is actually flattering. The only thing I have against this products is that after the second application it dries out your lips a bit so I try to pair it with a lip balm.

Cute But Impossible
This liquid liner by L'OREAL works really well as far as I'm concerned but I don't know how to use it.
When I try and wing it out I can never ever get it to look the same on both sides. One eye will look fine, so will the other but the lines are going in different directions. So for now this product will sit in my vanity waiting for the day I figure out how to use it.

Cozy Cashmere
This eyeshadow set from Maybelline called Cozy Cashmere is really great. It's great because it can look natural but can also create a more intense eye look. The colours are natural glittery shades but they last for a decent amount of time and they also don't make you look like you have glitter all over your face (this seems to happen to me a lot when I apply eyeshadow).

Favourite Fall Lip Colours
Fall is my favourite time to wear red/darker lip colours. My favourites are CoverGirl's Natureluxe in the colour Muscat and YSL's lipstick in the colour Rouge Pur Couture.
Muscat is a deeper red colour but is great if you don't want too much of a statement because the colour doesn't go on to intense. Rug Pur Couture on the other hand goes on a lot more intense. With just one coat it's not too dark though.

Revlon Balm Stain Review
It took me such a long time to find these Revlon Balm Stains and when I found them, the colours had already been picked through. I first bough the shade Love Sick but the colour looked too bright and kind of cakey on my lips so I returned it a choose the shade Cherish instead. I really like the product. The colour lasts for a decent amount of time (maybe 3 hours) but you have to reapply after eating. I especially love the minty flavour and that the colour is very true to the packaging. I'm glad I finally accomplished purchasing one of these!

Recommended
After about 2 months of waking up with huge dark smudges under my eyes from mascara I finally decided to get a makeup remover. I thought that Clinique's take of the day remover would do the trick especially because their products are usually aimed at people who have sensitive skin. Turns out I was right. This works really well removing all types of makeup with one wipe. It also lacks that awful chemical smell some removers have. So I would definitely recommend it!

August Favorites
These have been my favourite products in the month of August.
From left to right the Body Shops Aloe Eye Defence which has made putting on under eye concealer a lot easier and Urban Decay's eyeliner in Zero which I love applying to my water line to define my eyes. For lips I've been loving CoverGirls Outlast lip stain in the colour 400 I love this cause it last for a while but doesn't dry out my lips, another CoverGirl product but this one being a gloss/balm in the colour Sandstone this is a perfect creamy pink sparkly colour, and finally an EOS lip balm in Honey Suckle which great for lots of moisture. A face product that has been really useful is OXY's face cleansing pads which are great for removing oil from your face. That's it for my favourites hope you enjoyed.

July Favorites
These are my favourite beauty products of the month. I like watching these types of videos on YouTube so I thought I'd make a blog version.
This eyeshadow pallet that I got sent when I ordered a subscription from 17 magazine has been something that I use quite often. I especially love the colour that has the big dent in it, it's a beautiful gold bronze colour that is perfect summer.
This is the brush for Maybelline's Falsies Volum' Express mascara in the water proof formula which has been great for summer. I also really like the colour of the packaging.
This Essie nail polish called Turquoise and Caicos is definitely talked about a lot and I see why. It's a beautiful colour! Paired with this Aziza clear polish for a base and top coat it lasts for a good week without needing to change it.
In the background of this picture is Joico's Daily Care Conditioning Shampoo which I only just discovered this month and I'm glad I did 'cause it makes my hair look and feel good.
These two peach coloured/flavoured products have been my favourite lip products for the month of July. On the left Maybelline's Shine Sensational lip gloss in Peach Sorbet and on the left Revlon's lip butter in Peach Parfait. They are both natural colours but give your lips just the right amount of colour.

Worth Every Penny
This is Urban Decay's 24/7 Glide-On Eye Pencil in the shade Zero. I found that it does glide on easily which makes it easy to apply. The colour is also very intense which is great because you don't have to keep going back and re-applying the product. It also claims to be waterproof which seems to be true because I couldn't even get this off with makeup remover, I have to wait a few days while it faded before it came off! Overall it's definitely a great product and worth the price of $23!

YSL Mascara Review
This YSL volume mascara was given to me as a tester. I fell in love with the golden box but the love sort of ended there. This mascara definitely does not give a false lash effect. I'd say it makes your lashes look longer but in away so that it looks natural which is fine, but not what it claims to do at all. I'd say the Maybelline's Falsies has more of an effect than this and the Maybelline one is $10 while the full size YSL mascara is $30!

Lots Of Testers
These are some amazing mini testers I got at Sephora. I'm not going to tell you what each product is because there's a pretty good chance you can look at the pictures and read the labels. The only thing that isn't visible is the thing below the Fresh lip balm which is a Sephora lip liner.
Stay tuned for reviews from these products.

Blue Eyeliner & Lots Of Shimmer
I got my makeup done at the Sephora around York Ville by Adi Lando. It was really cool and I gained some tips about applying makeup. My eyeshadow is a combination of three Urban Decay eye shadows, the eyeliner is also by Urban Decay, and the mascara is by Sephora's own brand. The blue eyeliner is definitely out of my comfort zone but it looks super cool and I love the eyeshadow, it's naturalish but is still noticeable.

Just Me?
I was really excited to try out this Perfecting Cover Concealer by Sephora but after using it for a week I'm pretty sure I won't buy it again. I got mine in the shade light and it matched my skin tone well, my face didn't react to it, and it has good redness coverage. However when I apply it to my skin it looks as if though my face is dry because it looks like I have small pieces of dead skin. Maybe I do but I've never seen them until I put on the concealer. I've read reviews and that doesn't happen to anyone else though maybe it's just me?
