Skin Care Routine

Skin Care Routine

This is my current skin care routine specifically for my acne prone skin. I've been using this combination of products for about three weeks and it helps. Below is what I do with each product.
1. In the morning  I wash my face then apply Spectro's moisturizer and The Body Shop's eye cream. These to products also both help make it easier to apply concealer.
2. In the evening I wash my face with Clinique's cleanser. Sometimes I use Spectro's spot treatment but it tends to dry out my face so mostly I avoid it.
3. After a workout I use Oxy's medicate acne pads to make sure all the oil get completely off of my face.

Summer Skin Care

These are a few of my favourite summer skin care products.
The Ombrelle sunscreen is especially made for the face so the texture is great but you can also use it on the rest of your body too. This is good 'cause then you never have to feel greasy.
Aloe Caring Body Balm by The Body Shop is probably my favourite. It heals sunburns because of the aloe!  My sister used it when she got a bad sunburn and said that it cooled it and helped heal it.
Spectro's moisturizer for acne prone skin is a product I only just started using this month. I love it because like the Ombrelle sunscreen there is no oily residue left behind and it treats acne. I enjoy using this after I swim in a pool 'cause chemicals in pools tend to dry out my face.

My pets seemed to be quite interested in these products too.

Working For A While

Spectro Acne Care Vanishing Lotion For Sensitive Skin was the first skin care product I ever bought and I have now been using it for quite a while. It comes out as a white cream and then when you rub it on with your fingers it absorbs. I've found that you have to rub it in really well or else it leaves white marks on your face. It says you should apply it twice daily but I only apply it once before bed after I wash my face. This cream contains benzoyl peroxide which kills acne pimples and can also be worn under make up. I think that it works pretty well, it doesn't work right away but I think if you have problem spots and you apply it regularly it will definitely help clear and prevent acne.

When I first bought this cream I was looking for something to cover up my acne (which this cream does not do) but I guess it worked out because this helped get rid of my acne so I don't have to cover it up.

Camping and It's Beauties

This past week I spent camping! I spent some good times on the beach, on the trails, and under the sun. The only real problem for me was that there was no WIFI so I felt totally isolated and I missed the MMVA's.

A product that I used a lot while I was camping was Spectros Acne Pads. These were really good because they take all the oil off of your face which prevents acne but you don't have to wash your face. This was great for me because I would've had to walk 5 minutes to go to a bathroom to wash my face. They don't have a strong scent like other facial pads I've tried.

I also used Neutrogena's Ultra Sheer Face Sunscreen when I went to the beach because it has SPF 60. I know I have posted about it before but I thought I'd share that when I went swimming I dunked my head and my sister started laughing at me because I had white goo running down my face. So much for the sun screen being water proof. Besides that I had a good week.

Summer's Soaps

With summer fast approaching I knew that my face would be as oily as ever so I bought some face products and created my face cleansing routine.

The first product I got was Spectro Jel Cleanse for Blemish-Prone Skin. This keeps my face moisturized but cleans at the same time. I only use it before I got to bed though because it makes my face shiny but by the morning the shine is gone. The second thing I got was Netrogena's Rapid Clear Daily Cleansing Pads. These are supposed to improve acne-prone skin in 8 hours. I find that it helps a lot with acne and I think it's because it has salicylic acid in it which is supposed to help with blemishes.

This works for me but I know there are people out there that wash their face with good old water and soap.
